POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Associate Superintendent
for Area 3 - High Schools, the Coordinating
Supervisor – Non-Traditional Programs will be responsible for the
administration, supervision and coordination of the Non-Traditional Programs in
the middle school (6-8) or high school (9-12) site. This will include the mission of guiding,
assisting and supporting school staff and students with innovative and
transformational instructional programs, wraparound services, socio-emotional
learning support and successful instruction of students in a nurturing and
supportive learning environment. The incumbent will also be
responsible for the supervision and evaluation of
Non-Traditional Program educators and staff. The
Coordinating Supervisor will work on special projects as assigned by the Associate
Superintendent.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Coordinates, supervises and directs the student services
components of the non-traditional school program, including restorative
practices, wraparound services, attendance, behavioral supports, counseling and
related services;
Coordinates, implements and evaluates the instructional program and
flexible master schedule, including synchronous and asynchronous course
offerings, Career and Technical Education, College and Career Readiness,
internships, socio-emotional learning and advisory programs;
Attends and participates in area, district-level and community
meetings and task forces; monitors and participates in school/community meetings
and programs to develop and support the school improvement process;
Directs, supervises and coordinates school culture and climate
programs and activities for students, staff, parents and the community;
Observes educators and other staff using the
formal observation process, and provides feedback;
Establishes and maintains public relations through effective and
ongoing communication with district staff, the community, students and
parents; troubleshoots and resolves problems and concerns;
Plans, organizes and directs staff meetings to address ongoing
program needs, emerging issues, calendar events, and student support and
interventions;
Develops, implements and monitors the non-traditional school program
resource allocation process and budget; maintains strict fiscal
accountability through the review of financial documents and iProcurement
requests, and approves payroll;
Coordinates the enrollment of students in the non-traditional
school program through the centralized application process, including
articulation with other schools and district partners;
Collects and utilizes data to inform
departmental decisions and monitors plans for interventions and adjustments; monitors and analyzes data to provide feedback
for continuous improvement;
Establishes and monitors community partnerships to enhance
opportunities for internship and mentoring opportunities for students;
Participates in personal professional growth activities; and
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Experience providing leadership in designing,
planning, and implementing instructional programs and/or systemic initiatives,
including online platforms and non-traditional programming;
Knowledge of working with non-traditional
students and programs to meet the differentiated and diverse needs of students;
Extensive knowledge of innovative
learner-centered instructional strategies and current practices to support the
whole child;
Thorough knowledge of the instructional
programs, College and Career Readiness initiatives, socio-emotional learning
supports and wraparound services in PGCPS;
Knowledge of employee evaluation requirements;
Knowledge of innovative and creative teaching
with demonstrated ability to conceptualize ideas; lead and evaluate large
projects;
Excellent interpersonal skills built on
communication and collaboration;
Knowledge of data analysis, curriculum and instruction, budgeting
and accounting, high-risk student needs, adult learning theory and practices,
discipline and attendance issues and labor relations; and
Ability to stay current with and follow district policies,
procedures and standards.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in curriculum, administration or other relevant field required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a
supervisory position and five (5) years of successful teaching experience
required; previous experience within a secondary school classroom preferred.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced Professional
Certificate with Administrator II endorsement required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises assigned educators and staff and the daily operations of the
program.
