POSITION SUMMARY:
Under
the direction of the Chief Accountability Officer, the Director - Monitoring
and Accountability will be directly responsible for overseeing
all operations within the Office of Monitoring and Accountability.
This includes supporting
principals and district administration in reaching goals by designing and
implementing a planned program of evaluation and accountability structures
related to the ongoing development of instructional and other student-related
programs. Working alongside the Office of Information Technology, directs the
district’s data collection, analysis and reporting systems by facilitating and
supporting the maximum use of data in continuous improvement efforts of
district and school teams.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Analyzes
district and school data such as test scores, attendance records, discipline
record, dropout records and survey results to produce annual district and
school profiles;
Assists
schools and the district in compiling, reviewing and analyzing data;
Develops
and implements a program to train school and district personnel in the
retrieval and use of data from the district’s electronic platforms;
Serves
as a resource person in planning and conducting in-service activities for the
improvement of teaching practices in the areas of test result evaluation and
the use of other data metrics impacting instruction;
Coordinates
district and school-level gathering of data and narratives for the State Report
Cards;
Coordinates
the reporting of district and school performance monitoring metrics;
Develops,
conducts, analyzes and reports results of various surveys and studies;
interprets results as requested; compiles data and prepares various
statistical, administrative, and professional reports as required by the district,
State Department of Education and/or other agencies;
Provides
school and district data as needed, including demographic, academic and survey
data;
Interprets
and presents test results for school and parent groups as requested;
Attends
school, district, Board of Education, community and other meetings;
Carries
out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s policies and
applicable laws, which include conducting interviews, making hiring
recommendations, staff development, staff supervision, performance evaluation,
complaint resolution and problem solving; and
Performs other duties as assigned.

Strong
planning, organization and project management skills, with the ability to
identify numerous dependencies and develop a comprehensive, technical plan of
action;
Exceptional
internal and external stakeholder engagement skills, including facilitation and
indirect management towards consensus and results;
Commitment
to precision, detail orientation and high quality results;
Recent
experience with school accountability measures and data analysis;
Familiarity
with state and federal regulations related to education accountability;
Experience
in staff development, data-driven decision-making, data analysis, research
design and program evaluation;
Results
driven leader with commitment to exceeding expectations and outstanding oral
and written communications skills;
Demonstrated ability to develop and direct an effective accountability
team with a commitment to professional growth and development.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s
degree from an accredited college or university in education, public policy,
assessment, evaluation, educational research or related field required;
Doctorate preferred. A minimum of five
(5) years of related experience required; three (3) years of successful
administrative experience in an educational setting preferred.

Oversees
and provides guidance and direction to unit staff.
