POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the
direction of the Director of Technology Integration and Support, the Technology
Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support and performing
office related activities. Employees in
this class perform skilled technical, financial and clerical tasks in a central
office setting. The incumbent of this
position performs work assignments in support of other administrative and
program activities such as data entry.
The work is performed under the general supervision of the
Administrative Secretary.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Receives telephone calls and office visitors, answers inquiries, processes mail,
prepares routing correspondence and screens those, which in his/her
judgement can be handled by other offices, and tactfully refers them as
appropriate;
Prepares and signs standard letters, interoffice
forms, requisitions and similar documents;
Prepares necessary budget and financial management
documents; advises the supervisor of changes and provides status reports;
Coordinates and manages the equipment inventory
including material transfer forms, self-insurance forms and employee equipment
reports;
Manages and processes the departments payroll,
including workshop and substitute payroll; keeps accurate records and reports
for the Director;
Develops and maintains individual spreadsheets
for trainings;
Serves as back-up to Administrative Secretary;
Reviews and monitors monthly account manager
reports;
Assists in processing a variety of
administrative information and data using Google Drive;
Performs various clerical duties and
responsibilities in support of the organization’s program(s) and operations;
Reviews correspondence, reports and other papers
prepared for superior’s signature to assure conformance with administrative
instructions and requirements;
Assures the timely completion of correspondence
and reports to determine the status and progress of special projects; liaisons
with other departments;
Maintains records and prepares reports; gathers
and compiles information for and assists in preparing the annual budget
request; monitors expenditures with respect to budget limitations; confers with
superior about the status of accounts and initiates reallocation of funds as
instructed; and
Performs other general office and related duties
as assigned.

Good knowledge of general bookkeeping practices,
business English, spelling, arithmetic, modern office practices, procedures and
equipment;
Some knowledge of school accounting and
bookkeeping procedures;
Ability to make decisions in accordance with
school system policies and procedures;
Ability to perform a wide range of standard
office clerical tasks quickly and efficiently;
Ability to treat information, data, and records
confidentially;
Ability to work harmoniously with administrative
staff and the central office staff, ability to learn information processing and
data entry from remote terminals; and
Thorough knowledge of Oracle, Microsoft Office,
ERO, Google Suite including mail, calendar, drive, and docs.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a standard high school diploma or
GED with considerable responsible accounting, clerical and secretarial
experience, some of which shall have involved the maintenance of school
accounts, preferably supplemented by bookkeeping and accounting courses.
