POSITION SUMMARY:
The
Technology Trainer will be responsible for training office, regional and
school-based staff in the administrative use of technology, i.e.,
Administrative Information System, AS400, and future technologies such as
Substitute management System, Staff Development System, and Document Management
System.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Coordinating
and supporting information technology efforts for systemic initiatives;
Assisting
in the development and implementation of PGCPS’s Technology Plan;
Designing
and developing comprehensive training and reference materials;
Planning
and delivering a variety of high quality training opportunities to support
PGCPS’s technology implementations (one-on-one/group assistance, online
documentation, and online training modules, scheduled training sessions, and
other modes and resources as deemed appropriate);
Assisting
and facilitating the efficient completion of internal processes;
Assisting
central office staff to complete projects and schedule training sessions;
Evaluating
and troubleshooting hardware and software problems;
Providing
support for all information technology users; and
Providing
staff development activities including hands-on computer training.
QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Ability to update knowledge and skills in the area
of technology, training, and design;
Thorough
knowledge of networking systems, instructional management systems, and student
records systems;
Demonstrated
knowledge of curriculum and instructional programs;
Demonstrated
ability in the use of emerging technologies including information age
telecommunications and internet skills; and
Ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher; Five (5) years successful
teaching experience preferred (Candidates with exceptional portfolios of
demonstrated technology skills will be considered).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
