POSITION SUMMARY:
Under
the direction of the Supervisor of Digital and Visual Communications, the Television
Services Specialist will write and produce digital and multimedia content to
support instructional, staff development and public relations television
programs. The incumbent of this position
will be responsible for directing, producing and advising visual communications
staff, hosting television programs and
voice-overs. Work is reviewed in terms
of accomplishment of objectives.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Writes
and revises video scripts;
Produces
and serves as talent for programs and videos for television and multimedia use;
Works
with and directs students and professional talent;
Hosts
video segments and does voice-overs, including production of the PGCPS Science
Bowl;
Works
closely with technical staff;
Organizes
the annual media festival;
Trains
educators on the use of instructional television programming;
Assists
with Channel 12 programming; and
Performs
other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Experience
writing and producing video content for television and digital media platforms;
knowledge of video production and editing equipment;
Knowledge
of best practices for video content on web and social media platforms;
Demonstrated
ability to conceive and execute creative video content under deadlines; and
Proficient
computer skills and excellent communication and human relations skills.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
with major coursework in communications, journalism, video production or a
related field required. A minimum of
three (3) years of experience in writing and producing required.

May
provide guidance and direction to assigned personnel.
