POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Purchasing and Supply, the Supervisor of Supply Services is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the school systems central purchasing and supply activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assisting
in the preparation of proposals and specifications and verifies commodities and
services against purchase orders and contracts awarded to vendors; Preparing
and presenting recommendations on purchases; Confirming
that the present inventory management system, or any new systems developed and
implemented are properly interfaced with all other programs; Directing,
coordinating and establishing an efficient, progressive and safe operation in
the stock control, warehouse/distribution, shop stores, mailroom and courier
services; Assisting
in the development, planning, and presentation of long range plans for supply
services to the school system; Consolidating
the needs of the various organizational users by standardizing supplies,
materials and equipment; Answering
special correspondence related to purchasing matters, handles special
assignments, and problems as assigned; Planning
and assisting in the operation of a comprehensive supply management program;
and Carrying
out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s policies and
applicable laws which include interviewing, interviewing, hiring, staff
development, staff supervision, complaint resolution and problem solving.
QUALIFICATIONS Working
knowledge of the Oracle Inventory/Order Management module; Thorough
knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures including buying, inspection,
storage, and shipping; Computer
proficiency in Microsoft Office, Intranet/Live Link/Internet, Email and Oracle
based system, (Order Management, Inventory, Warehouse Requisitions); Good
written, oral and communication skills; and Excellent
human relation skills.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or a related field preferred; five (5) years demonstrated supervisory experience; five (5) years progressive experience in purchasing and supply chain manage or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises departmental office staff.
