    Private/Home School TAG Testing Application

    PARENTS OF PRIVATE/HOMESCHOOLED STUDENTS:

    THE OVERVIEW FOR TAG SCREENING FOR 
    SY 2023-2024

    THE TAG OFFICE WILL SCREEN STUDENTS OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY RESIDENTS WHO ARE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN A PRIVATE SCHOOL OR HOMESCHOOL.

    The following information is needed to complete TAG screening for students in grades 1-7:

    • A cognitive ability assessment administered by a psychologist or school.  (Group administered tests such as the Otis-Lennon School Ability Assessment, Cognitive Ability Test, or Naglieri Non-verbal or individual assessments such as WISC are accepted).
    • Nationally normed standardized math and reading national percentiles. (i.e. SCAT, Stanford, iReady, Terra Nova)
    • Most recent report card.
    • Teacher checklist of gifted characteristics. 
    All screening packets will be reviewed once all data has been collected and submitted to the TAG Office. 
    • Parents/Guardians may submit the packet at the end of first quarter through March 1, 2023.
    • The deadline for all screenings is March 1, 2023.

    Parents/guardians are welcome to complete the lottery application DURING the screening process.  

     

    • The TAG Center Lottery is scheduled to open on Dec. 15, 2022 and close on March 15, 2023 - https://pgcpsmdc.scriborder.com/
    • ONLY students who have been identified for TAG services through PGCPS screening process are eligible for placement into the TAG Center Program via lottery.
