    Private/Home School TAG Testing Application

    PARENTS OF PRIVATE/HOMESCHOOLED STUDENTS:
    THE APPLICATION FOR TAG TESTING AND SCREENING FOR 
    SY 2022-2023

    This TAG Testing and Screening opportunity is for Prince George's County residents who are currently in grades 1 - 7.  Students MUST be Prince George's County residents and enrolled in a private school or homeschool.

     This application must include: 

     

    1. This Private/Homeschooled Google form application.  PGCPS students DO NOT NEED to complete this process.
    2. Teacher Checklist – (Grade 1-3; Grade 4-8) the teacher checklist should be completed at the current school by the current teacher/s. Checklist must include the teacher’s name. Schools may choose to email the checklist directly to the TAG Office at tag.2022@pgcps.org. 
    3. Parent Checklist (Grade 1-3; Grade 4-8)
    4. Copy of current SY 2021-2022 report card.
    5. Homeschooled student in grade 1 must submit birth certificate to ensure he/she is age eligible.  You may also include any standardized test data supplied by the current school.

    • All information requested in this PRIVATE/HOMESCHOOL STUDENT APPLICATION PACKET MUST be submitted by January 11, 2022.

    • Students who have been previously TAG identified in PGCPS need not be tested again.  Prior identification remains valid. Provide identification information on the application page.

    • Application and supporting documents need to be submitted with the google application. Teacher checklists can be emailed directly to tag.2022@pgcps.org.

    • LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

    • Testing will be conducted by the TAG Office on Saturday, January 22, 2022, beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m.  

    • The testing session will be at least 2 hours depending on grade levels, but could take longer.

      • All students will take the Otis Lennon School Ability Assessment.

      • Grade 4-7 students will complete a reading and math achievement assessment.

    • In the event of a county-wide activities cancellation due to inclement weather, the testing date will be rescheduled for Saturday, January 29, 2022.

    • ALL APPLICANTS will receive an email receipt.

    • PLEASE DO NOT SEND SNACKS INTO THE TESTING ROOM WITH YOUR CHILDREN. Children may take a water bottle into the testing room.

    • We will be following all social distancing and masking guidelines as set forth by PGCPS at the time of testing.

    • PARENTS MUST REMAIN ON SITE DURING TESTING in case of emergencies.

    • Notification of the screening outcome should occur within three (3) weeks after testing. However, you may apply to the lottery any time between Jan. 12 and Mar. 23, 2022, while awaiting TAG screening results.

    Note: Parents of private or homeschool students who wish to have their child screened for TAG services with outside testing in lieu of PGCPS testing on January 22, 2022, should submit the standard private/homeschool school application by the January 11, 2022 deadline.  Include  a cover letter with your application indicating that you will be submitting outside testing data and do not plan to test on January 22, 2022.

    The TAG Center Lottery for SY 2022-2023 will open on January 12, 2022.  

    The deadline for the TAG Center Lottery application is March 23, 2022.
