Scope of Work

Full Replacement of the existing 344,875 SF and 2,477 student Suitland High School Campus consisting of Comprehensive High School (CHS), Center for Visual and Performing (CVPA) Arts and Career Technical Education (CTE). The proposed design capacity is 1,500 comprehensive and 500 CVPA students. The new facility will be one new facility with the comprehensive and the CVPA school programs only. The CTE programs will be relocated to Crossland High School for school year 2022 - 2023, which will be designated as the new southern comprehensive CTE school for the county.

  • Budget: $227,758,000
  • Planning/Design Start: 2018 
  • Construction Start (multi-phased): Phase I - 2022; Phase II - 2024; Phase III - 2025 
  • Phase & Percentage Complete: Construction Documents, 50%
  • Current Status: Schematic phase review response completed and sent to Maryland State Department of Education in Spring 2021. Structural remediation work contract awarded. Commence preparation of Construction Management at Risk (CMR) procurement documents. 
  • Next Activities: Awaiting a court date for the quick claim deed process. Issue Request for Proposal to solicit CMR services.
